Making pemmican Native American food in your own kitchen.

You can make pemmican in your own kitchen and taste what Native Americans used to eat when they traveled the land. It lasts for years and tastes great and does not require refrigeration. You'll need following ingredients. 1 Three pounds of lean raw beef or any meat of your choice. 2 Dry unsweetened cranberries or blueberries. 3 Salt 4 Spices of your choice 5 Beef tallow 6 Powdered garlic (not in the original recipe ) You can use an oven or dehydrator to dry the meat. If drying in the oven set it to 130F and leave it slightly open with the meat placed on the grates. Pemmican is excellent for camping, fishing and hunting trips because it takes very little space in your backpack comparing to other foods. It's also very good just for snacking. Full credit for the recipe goes to Native American people of this land.
