Three Days of Freight & Passenger Action | Reading & Gloucester | Britannic Explorer, 6V70, Weedkiller Train & More! Join me for three days of railway action filmed across Reading and Gloucester, featuring a great mix of freight, passenger services and some very interesting workings. Our first visit takes us to Reading on 29th June 2026, where we first catch 6V70 (16:31 Wembley Receptions 1-7 – Merehead Quarry), double-headed by 66952 and 66414 in the striking PowerHaul livery. We then witness the luxurious Britannic Explorer on its inaugural journey, working 1V00 15:48 London Victoria – Clunderwen, hauled by 66744. Unfortunately, the service was later partially cancelled between Clunderwen and Haverfordwest due to the signal box not being open. Next, we head to Gloucester on 1st July 2026, where the highlight is the returning weedkiller train, 3Z97 09:08 Cardiff Canton Sidings – Bescot Up Engineers Sidings, top-and-tailed by 66760 and 66718. We also see a selection of passenger services, including a CrossCountry Voyager in its new livery and a Transport for Wales Class 150 heading towards Cardiff Central. Finally, we return to Reading, where 6V70 makes another appearance, this time hauled by 66420, which still carries traces of its former Freightliner PowerHaul livery alongside the newer Heavy Haul branding following Freightliner’s restructuring. We also capture: 66651 working 6V11 16:33 Cricklewood Aggregates DBC – Whatley Quarry 66558 working 6A83 14:38 Avonmouth Bennet’s Siding – West Drayton Hanson Aggregates A variety of evening peak-time passenger services.
