Performance Regarding performance, obviously I didn't test the whole machine, but overall it performs very well for everyday tasks, which makes me recommend this laptop to all users who are more basic, I mean web browsing, email, social networks or even those who are casual, need something specific. The other day I made a video kind of comparing the MacBook Air M4 with the M5, and in it I exported a 10-minute, 4k 60FPS video, just like the one you're watching now. On the MacBook Air M4, which until then was Apple's best value-for-money option here in Brazil, the export time was 10 minutes. On the MacBook Neo, although I can edit it okay, the export time was around 30 minutes! In other words, it's possible to edit, especially if it's a more basic edit, with cuts and few animations, but... the rendering time, at least in Final Cut Pro, Apple's official software, won't be the best. An M chip is much more efficient. However, two positive points: it doesn't overheat or make noise. I also ran a game, in this case I downloaded Steam and played CS:GO, and here's a surprise: it runs well at medium quality. It lags a bit when scaling up, but it's still playable... It doesn't freeze excessively. It's compatible with others, especially those optimized for it, but this video is just a first impressions video, so I won't go into too much technical hardware detail… it doesn't make much sense. Keyboard It's worth mentioning the keyboard; it's light-colored, matching the color you chose, but in a very light shade, which I thought was cool. It makes a difference and gives it a very special touch. But there are two points that intrigue me: The entry-level 256GB version does NOT have Touch ID. It doesn't have backlighting, so if you intend to work in darker environments, pay close attention… you can compensate for the lack of backlighting with the screen, but using the minimum brightness makes things a bit "tense". Camera The camera doesn't have a center stage function, as we see in other Macs, and the quality is OK… What I observed is that because it doesn't have the "notch," we don't have any "light indicator" that an application is using the camera, something we have in other models. For meetings, I think it's good, and I believe you'll like it too. Sound Regarding the sound, this is a part that surprised me! It has speakers on the sides, so the quality is good in almost all scenarios. Unless you hold the Mac with both hands like this, the sound will be quite loud, clear, and of good quality. Of course, it's not better than a MacBook Pro, but I'm sure you won't find it bad. And for me, who uses it with the lid closed, it was even better, because the monitor's sound isn't all that great, so I use the MacBook's own output.
