Tony’s Garden Makeover Part 2 of 3: Dividing Hydrangea & Perennial + Rooting Hydrangea Cutting

Hi everyone, My name is Tracy and I garden in Zone 4/5 (maybe zone 5/6 judging by our last winter) in Toronto, Canada. Today we are in my brother and his wife, Tony & Becky's, back garden. I have been requested to help Tony & Becky do a makeover of their back garden on a budget - to re-use all of their existing plants (not to buy new plants). In this second part of the video - I will be dividing many perennials (except for the peonies which should only be transplanted in late autumn) that are currently in their garden - hydrangeas (macrophylla + paniculata), hostas, brunnera, sedum, and astilbe. In addition, I also placed some hydrangea cuttings into the soil for them to root for more planting in the fall. I hope the video will inspire you to start a new garden bed or encourage you to get into your garden to create something fresh and fun to enjoy this gardening season. 💚🪴💚 ps. Can you hear all birds singing in the background? While working in this garden, I was delighted to be able to see many varieties of birds - Red Cardinal, Blue Jay, etc....too bad I was busy and work and couldn't just sit back and enjoy them in the garden.
