L'OMlClDlO DI THOMAS OVERBURY

London, 17th century. A man lies dying in the most famous and notorious tower in England. Sir Thomas Overbury, poet and royal advisor, is about to breathe his last breath but his death is not natural; clear signs of poisoning on his body indicate a heinous crime. I take you with me to the heart of one of the greatest scandals in England during the 1600s. You will discover that Robert Carr, a nobleman and favorite of King James, was closely linked to this tragic affair and we will see how the controversial relationship between Carr and Frances Howard, a passion that defied social conventions, led to fatal consequences. This reconstruction is based on original sources of the time, documents that have spanned the centuries to tell us this story. It is precisely through these direct testimonies that we can reveal hidden secrets and offer a unique perspective on events far away in time. A case from the past but of which there are still traces and testimonies: books, historical documents, old newspapers, police reports on yellowed paper: a sort of ancient crime libraries...
