Volkswagen was once the world's largest automaker. Today, there's talk of plant closures, job cuts, and a historic restructuring of the company. In this video, I also share my personal connection to VW. I completed my apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic there and later even applied for a position at the Emden plant. That's why the current developments affect me so deeply. I discuss why Emden and Zwickau were completely converted to electric vehicles, why demand fell short of expectations, and why, in my opinion, many decision-makers remained silent for far too long.
