"Concerning The Tollhouses" by Saint Cyril of Alexandria in 444 AD

Saint Cyril of Alexandria was the Patriarch of Alexandria from 412 to 444 and a titan of the Christian faith. He was enthroned when the city was at the height of its influence and power within the Roman Empire. Cyril wrote extensively and was a major player in the Christological controversies of the late 4th and 5th centuries. He was the greatest contributor to the results of the divine council at Ephesus which saw Nestorius deposed and the doctrine of Christ's two natures established. The Council also established the Holy Virgin Mary as the "Mother of God" for she gave birth to God the Word who took our flesh for the salvation of mankind.
