Guerra en Irán y precio del petróleo: CED advierte que presupuesto del gobierno “quedó obsoleto”
“The financial planning approved in the budget law is now obsolete.” “Doing nothing is a bad option in this scenario.” That's how economist Agustín Iturralde, Executive Director of the Center for Development Studies (CED), spoke yesterday when analyzing the economic situation in our country. Last year, the CED had warned that the forecasts included in the draft budget were fragile in the face of potential external shocks such as those experienced in recent weeks with the war in the Middle East and the surge in oil prices. Yesterday, at its first working breakfast of 2026, the institution analyzed the country's economic and political situation and recommended adjustments to public spending and fundamental reforms to boost investment, productivity, and growth. On the political front, Ignacio Zuasnábar, Director of Equipos Consultores, focused on the challenging figures the government faces in public opinion. What impacts does the CED (Center for Development Studies) foresee on the Uruguayan economy due to the war? What proposals does it promote? Can structural reforms be undertaken in the short term? Emiliano Cotelo spoke with the executive director of the Center for Development Studies, Agustín Iturralde. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Become a member of this channel to enjoy exclusive benefits: https://www.youtube.com/EnPerspectiva...
