Kaeser 5HP Compresor Running on a VFD

This is a quick teaser of my VFD conversion on a 3 phase Kaeser rotary screw compressor so allow it to run on single phase input power. I used an Invertek E3 Optidrive from www.driveswarehouse.com that is capable of running a 5HP 3 phase motor from single phase power source. I used various parts from Automation Direct and McMaster Carr to complete the conversion. So far is the few hours I have run it since the install I am extremely happy with the results. I was using an rotary phase converter, which there was no performance issues with, but I personally can't stand extra noise pollution in my shop. So the sound of a motor just spinning away in the corner eventually got to me, even thought they are not all that loud.
