Why Characters Are More Important Than the Story Itself.
We as writers have this agreement with our audience, or whoever consumes our story, that the characters themselves are fictional people. We should understand that they aren't real and should be treated more as ideas and less real people. And yet, the audience, nine times out of ten, will go feral about the next character idea, skin, or even variant. That, my friends, is the reason why we should care about characters and what they serve to the narrative as a whole, even more than the themes, plot twists, setting, plot, and the story itself. #writer #writingtips #books #fiction #reading Timestamps: Intro: 0:00 Why Characters Matter: 0:50 Good Characters in Literature: 3:18 Bad Characters in Literature: 6:03 Advice for the Writer: 8:40 Clothing Thoughts: 14:38 Conclusion: 16:42 Book 1 - A Small World Smiles: https://d3ey0ivtc68uxj.cloudfront.net...
