Reiteralm Trails - Die gemütliche Alternative zu Schladming?

I only new the Reiteralm from winter up till now, where it is a real alternative to the loud and crowded Schladming ski resort. But is the same true for summer? After spending a day on the mountainbike there I can confidently say "yes". It is the same treats that kame it a great winter destination, that work also in the summertime and turn it into a valid alternative to nearby and much wider known Schladming. But one has to note that this will not be tha fact for everybody. If you are looking for fast technical downhill thrills you will be as much disappointed as if you were looking for high alpine technical natural enduro trails. You will be served better in Schladming, Saalbach, Leogang or Sölden. But for everyone else, for a day on the bike with your family without stress and combined with the stunning views of the Dachstein mountain range and the delicious styrian gastronomy you will find a truly enjoyable mountainbike spot. There's even a kids bikepark up on the moutain, where the little ones can use a conveyor belt while the parents enjoy lunch on at the Reiteralm Hütte. The trails are not technical and I would describe them as easy enduro flow. The local trail rating has to be taken with a grain of salt, as it merely gives an indication of the difference in technicality between them. But I wouldn't use it to compare the trails to other bikespots. E.g. there's blue trails on Reschen that are way more difficult then the black trails on Reiteralm. But apart from that, the trail system still is being expanded and at the time of me riding there, there was an enduro trail and a jumpline still being built. The only downside of Reiteralm is the fact that the one cablecar you can use does not carry you to the very top. So if you want to ride the Gassl Trail you have to pedal up very steep 100 vertical meters to the entry of that trail. Bu hey, bikes are made for pedalling, so no need to complain.
