The seventh day of our trip to Iceland was a true naturalistic tour de force: a sun-kissed day, cloudless on the glacier, in which we managed to squeeze in seven unforgettable stops, including frozen lakes, breathtaking canyons, black beaches, and countless waterfalls (a veritable "purple" of foss!). Here are all the stops and places visited in this vlog: [00:57] Frozen lake (Fjallsárlón / Jökulsárlón): Rally start, leaving Diamond Beach behind. First up-close stop to touch the millennia-old ice and admire the glacier's great retreat over the last 100 years. [02:30] Svartifoss: First trek of the day inside Skaftafell National Park to reach the famous waterfall framed by dark basalt columns. [04:04] Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon: A bit of off-roading for a change of scenery and to enjoy the spectacular, dizzying views of this monumental canyon from different perspectives. [05:56] Vík Church (Víkurkirkja): A photo stop at the famous red church overlooking the village of Vík í Mýrdal and offering a breathtaking view of the coast. [06:31] Reynisfjara Black Beach: Check the traffic lights (orange today!), walk on the black volcanic sand, climb the basalt columns, and detour to Hálsanefshellir cave, braving the fearsome waves. [07:57] Seljalandsfoss (or Gljúfrabúi): A stop to walk right behind the jet of water of this evocative waterfall before moving on to the grand finale. [08:38] Skógafoss & Waterfall Trek (Fossstíll): The majestic and powerful Skógafoss seen from below, followed by the endless staircase to the top.
