On this fourth day of our journey along the Ring Road, we explore some of the wildest wonders of northern Iceland. Despite the initial rain, the day turns out to be full of incredible discoveries, including volcanoes, geothermal areas, and breathtaking canyons. What we'll see in this video: Skútustaðagígar Craters: We begin with a morning walk among the pseudo-craters on Lake Mývatn [00:58]. Hverir: We visit the Námaskarð geothermal area, a lunar landscape with boiling mud pools and a strong smell of sulfur [01:43]. Viti (Krafla): We climb into the volcanic crater that houses an azure lake within it [03:23]. Selfoss Waterfall: The first of the day's great waterfalls [05:21]. Dettifoss Waterfall: We admire the power of Europe's most impressive waterfall up close [6:20]. Stuðlagil Canyon: We conclude with the famous canyon characterized by its incredible basalt columns, although the water today is a different color than usual [7:06].
