Interpreting and Using Data (DeSTRESS film 1)
DeSTRESS films combine live-action explanation and interviews, filmed in a variety of locations, with narrated animations that take the viewer through a worked example. This first in the series looks at descriptive statistics. Pie charts, bar charts, graphs, and graphs can be used to illuminate ideas but they can also obscure and deceive. Includes an interview with Nobel Prize winner Gary Becker. This video has been produced as part of the DeSTRESS project, part of the UK Open Educational Resources programme funded by the HE Academy and the JISC.
