I met Eryk because my friend heard about his podcast Formosa Files. Eryk came to Taiwan with missionary parents in 1983. As the oldest of 10 children, his family travelled around until his dad asked the kids which country in Asia they liked best. They all replied Taiwan thanks to the kindness of the people here. After Eryk moved back to Taiwan as an adult, he was a journalist in Taipei and worked for various international outlets. After getting married, he moved to Kaohsiung. Besides raising his two kids, Eryk spends most of his time writing and recording his podcast Formosa Files. Through this project, Eryk hopes to tell the world stories about Taiwan's history, and make people at home and abroad proud of the progress Taiwan has made over the past 70 years.
