Detroit’s Landlocked Polish Yacht Club | The Ivanhoe Cafe
The Polish Yacht Club, or Ivanho Cafe, has been serving up grub for over a century from the corner of Joseph Campau and Frederick in Poletown East. The structure was built by Stanislaus Grendzinski, a Polish Immigrant, but his daughter, Agnes, made it famous as the Ivanhoe Cafe, later the Polish Yacht Club. Today, it’s still in the family and continues to fry up some of the best perch dinners in Michigan, even if it’s only open for lunch.
