In this episode of Saving Blue Steel, I begin the prep work for rebuilding the swim platform — the rustiest part of the boat hull. This section had the worst corrosion on the entire boat. Although the damaged steel was removed earlier in the project, this stage is all about preparing the area for new steel fabrication and welding. Proper prep is critical before installing a new swim platform, especially on a steel boat hull.
