The search for foreigners, who often try to hide from prying eyes, was conducted not only from the ground but also from the air. "Mass raids took place on agricultural land in the Gorodishchensky, Dubovsky, and Sredneakhtubinsky districts," reported the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region. "Together with colleagues from the regional Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia, police identified two illegal immigrants who were in the country illegally. They were placed in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens of the Volgograd Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Another 28 migrants were cultivating fields in the Volgograd Region without work permits. Another 15 colleagues, upon entering Russia, did not declare their true purpose for their visit. Administrative protocols were issued against Russian citizens who rented housing to foreigners violating the stay regulations. An investigation is underway into the employer of the illegal immigrants, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs press service noted. At the height of the season, police said, similar investigations will also be carried out in other districts of the Volgograd Region.
