How to Set Up Journals in Procreate Using Stacks (Without Using Page Assist)
How to Set Up Journals in Procreate Using Stacks If you've struggled with Page Assist for digital journals or notebooks in Procreate, you're not alone. In this tutorial I'll show you my preferred method using stacks and preview mode instead, which gives you unlimited layers per page and a much more book like feel when flipping through. 00:00 Intro 00:38 Why I don't like Page Assist 02:35 My preferred method: Stacks 03:02 How to make a stack 03:37 Set up the template 05:01 Preview Mode 06:47 Export a PDF of your book 07:59 Summary of the stack method for journal keeping in Procreate 09:01 The free Digital Journaling Starter Pack 09:41 How to use the Template: Backgrounds 10:20 How to use the Template: Binding 12:13 How to use the Template: Paper Textures 13:59 The Mixed Media Sampler brushes 14:10 The drag and drop ephemera library 17:20 Outro You'll learn how to: Set up journals and notebooks in Procreate using stacks Use preview mode to flip through pages like a real book Export your finished journal as a multi page PDF Customise paper textures, binding styles, and backgrounds Drag and drop images from a web browser into Procreate This method works beautifully for art journaling, mixed media, junk journaling, travel journaling, scrapbooking, or any kind of digital notebook in Procreate. The Stack Method, Step by Step: 1. Create a stack in your Procreate gallery by dragging one document on top of another 2. Add a cover page as the first document in the stack 3. Customise your journal template (paper texture, binding, background) and trim away unused layers 4. Place the blank template as the last document in your stack 5. Swipe left on the template and tap Duplicate every time you want to add a new page 6. Pinch outward on any thumbnail to enter preview mode and flip through your journal 7. Double tap a page in preview mode to open it for editing 8. To export as a PDF: delete the blank template at the end, then swipe left on the stack from the main gallery and tap Share → PDF Read the full tutorial on the blog: https://alainajensen.com/blog/tutoria...
