Everybody keeps debating whether Boosie has the right to ban trans women from his pool party. Wrong conversation. The real question is what happens when we teach people that it’s their job to investigate who counts as a woman. Because once folks start checking jawlines, voices, shoulders, and bodies, it never stops with trans women. It becomes every woman who doesn’t fit somebody else’s definition of femininity. As someone currently pursuing my MSW, what fascinates me isn’t the controversy. It’s the behavior. The fixation. The obsession. The way trans people have become a marketing strategy whenever attention starts running low. The pool party was never the point. The point was getting everybody talking. And here we are.
