🇻🇳 We Had NO PLAN… So We Ate Everything in a Vietnamese Local Market! Join us as we go deep into a hidden local market in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (Bàn Cờ Market) with absolutely NO PLAN except one thing... eat everything we could find! For only 36,000 VND, we got a generous portion that was absolutely delicious. Not long after, we spotted a vendor selling fresh bánh cuốn and had to sit down on the famous little Vietnamese plastic stools. Kacey loved dipping them into the satay sauce, and at only 34,000 VND, they were another fantastic local snack. As we wandered deeper into the market alleyways, we discovered a friendly lady selling traditional Vietnamese sweets. She let us try one of her homemade treats, and we couldn't resist picking up some delicious local snacks for 90,000 VND. Next, the irresistible smell of grilled pork pulled us towards a local bún thịt nướng vendor. Sitting alongside the locals, we enjoyed a delicious bowl of one of Vietnam's most famous dishes for only 45,000 VND. We continued our food hunt and came across a lady selling bánh dừa from her bicycle. A perfect snack for just 10,000 VND. By this point we were already getting full... but our NO PLAN challenge wasn't over yet! We grabbed a refreshing nước dừa (fresh coconut water) from a friendly local vendor for 20,000 VND and continued wandering through the busy market, taking in the sights, sounds, and local atmosphere. Along the way, we also met an uncle selling old CDs and candy from his bicycle. We couldn't resist supporting him and bought some delicious Vietnamese peanut candy. As our food adventure continued, we stopped for a refreshing glass of nước mía (fresh sugar cane juice), the perfect drink on a warm day in Vietnam. We then found ourselves back where we started and couldn't resist one more piece of the delicious bánh chuối. For our final stop, we found two lovely ladies selling another version of bánh dừa topped with coconut milk and sesame seeds. We shared laughs with both the grandma and aunty, and they were surprised to hear Ricky speaking Vietnamese! This adventure reminded us why we love exploring Vietnam.
