Warm Winter Izakaya Night in Osaka — Sashimi, Yudofu & Hidden Spots
Japan is getting colder, so tonight I went out to find something warm and comforting. At the entrance of Tenma, I discovered a new izakaya that serves seasonal Japanese dishes and a great selection of sake. Even the starter set included onsen egg and fruit shiraae—surprisingly luxurious for an otoshi. I enjoyed sashimi, golden yudofu, grilled sea bream head, and fried eggplant stuffed with mentaiko. Nothing beats warm Japanese comfort food on a winter night. After leaving the first izakaya, I walked through Renga Street and found a small hidden bar behind a “women’s bath” curtain. Here, the owner prepares dishes based on your budget—I tried the 1,000-yen set, which included marinated tuna, jakoten from Ehime, and homemade meatballs. Osaka’s back streets are full of cozy, unexpected food spots like these. Let me know which dish you’d try! 📍 Area: Osaka (Tenma / Renga Street) 🍽 Dishes: Sashimi, yudofu, grilled fish head, mentaiko eggplant, jakoten 🥤 Drinks: Highball, sake ✨ Vibe: Warm winter izakaya, hidden spots, casual night drinking Thanks for watching!
