What drives one man to dedicate decades of his life to saving the old wooden architecture of the Polish countryside from complete destruction? Mirek is an organic farmer, herbalist, and a true enthusiast of old architecture. At the Herbal Corner, he has created not only a safe haven for historical buildings but also one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe. During this time, Mirek has saved over 45 historic buildings from destruction, including a unique, three-hundred-year-old wooden church. Some of these structures were dismantled in their original locations and rebuilt at the Herbal Corner. Others were created from elements of several different buildings that couldn't be saved in their entirety. This has given the old wood a new lease on life. Among these extraordinary projects are a monumental gate reminiscent of a 19th-century manor house and a seventeen-room agritourism facility built from the remains of eight former wooden houses. Each of the rescued buildings holds its own history and constitutes an important part of the cultural heritage of Podlasie. In the film, Mirosław guides Jonathan through these unique places, telling him about their origins, their former inhabitants, and his mission to preserve local traditions, architecture, and herbal culture. Today, Ziołowy Zakątek is one of the most renowned agritourism farms in Poland, visited by over 100,000 people annually. It is a place created for all those who love old villages, traditional farms, animals, and the peaceful rhythm of life before the era of modern technology.
