📌 Dornhau AL (Riese). Emil and Lajos Erdélyi, father and son 🔥The story of this episode begins on the ramp at Auschwitz-Birkenau. During a selection led by an SS officer, final decisions are made. The mother and sister are sent straight to the gas chambers. Father Emil Erdélyi and son Lajos Erdélyi find themselves in a different direction, to work. This was a decisive moment for the rest of their lives. After Auschwitz, Emil and Lajos are transferred to Dornhau (Dörnhau / Kolce), a labor camp that was part of the Riese project in the Owl Mountains. 🔥They worked on the construction of "The Giant," a gigantic underground structure of the Third Reich, planned as Adolf Hitler's underground headquarters. 🔥Concrete, stone, transport of materials, hunger, disease, and violence were everyday life. Dornhau was a place of extermination through labor. Emil and Lajos survived because they were together. In a system designed to separate and break people, the bond between father and son became the only form of resistance.
