Allegro moderato Abstract: Professor Roth points out that the beginning should be played with simplicity, breathing, and in balance with the piano. All articulations must be played within the context of the phrase. They also discuss the phrasing line and its relationship with the bow. Position changes should be made smoothly and without being noticeable. We must be aware of where vibrato is used and its intensity: playing intensely does not mean playing with an accent.
