Tasmania - AN Tasrail 1987 Conara to Fingal and return, Y class cab ride

A shift with a Conara Junction crew from VHS footage from 1987 begins with two Y class locos starting in the early morning, stabled in what was the engine shed/road at Conara, followed by shunting in the yard before departing for Fingal to load coal in vacuum braked hoppers. Arrival at Fingal involves a cross with two Z/Za's on a Railton/Burnie bound air braked coal train. Arrival back at Conara sees another cross - two Alco 830 class with open top containers to load coal. This train will also eventually lift logs ex Fingal. Yes, three trains per day on the Fingal line!
