Making 6 Beautiful but Deadly Thermochromics
In this video I show how to make (and demonstrate) six thermochromic compounds. These are all compounds that share the unique property of being able to change color in response to a change in temperature, although the reasons they do this vary quite a bit between compounds. Of the chemicals I demonstrate in this video, three are composed of mercury, one is composed of lead, and one of nickel. These are all very dangerous compounds (especially the mercury-based ones), so please be aware of all possible hazards before even considering trying anything I show here.
