In this video, we visit seven municipalities in Extremadura (provinces of Cáceres and Badajoz) where, in April 2026, there were active listings for homes priced at or below €15,000. These seven towns have experienced verified population declines of between 66% and 87% since the mid-20th century, with 2025 census figures ranging from 3,456 inhabitants to just 177. These are not move-in ready homes. Most require renovation, are located in established urban areas but with a virtually nonexistent local market, and the price reflects decades of rural exodus rather than a market error.
