Ana explains how artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing political communication, highlighting its use in creating disinformation and fake news. Salazar analyzes how AI-generated images and content are used to manipulate public perception and destabilize societies, underscoring the difficulty of distinguishing between real and fake. The talk also addresses the ethical challenges and risks of a democracy under the influence of technologies that can profoundly alter our understanding of truth, proposing a debate on the role of AI in the future of political communication and its impact on democratic structures. Her goal is to connect the political world with the citizenry. She holds a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Granada, which she complements with studies in Social Research Techniques, Electoral Campaign Design, and Film Editing and Post-Production. After working at IESA-CSIC, she founded her first company dedicated to socio-electoral research in 2006, a company that closed in 2009 due to the economic crisis. In 2010, she joined the staff of the Andalusian Regional Government's Ministry of Employment, where she focused on institutional communication and crisis management. In 2014, she founded her second company, dedicated to the design and execution of electoral campaigns. She sold this company three years later because she chose the wrong partner, and went on to found her third and, for now, last company, Idus3, specializing in electoral campaigns, crisis management, and institutional communication. She does not rule out forming other companies to help develop her projects. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
