Travelers! I'm returning to the Mantaro Valley, and we're starting this tour in Jauja, considered the first capital of Peru and home to the valley's airport, Francisco Carlé Airport. Our tour of the province of Jauja begins in the historic center, visiting the main square, the central church where the Virgin of the Rosary is located, the Chapel of Cristo Pobre, the San José School, and Liberty Square. In the district of Yauyos, we visited the murals of the Tunantada dance on Jirón Cusco and Jerga Kumo Square. We also went to Sausa, where Jauja was founded as Santa Fe de Hatun Xauxa in 1534. We were able to visit places like Lake Paca, the Shutjo or Shutco Canyon, and the Tunanmarca archaeological site, among other interesting locations.
