Santa Cruz BULLIT – THE Ultimate Trail Weapon or Just Hype?

Ready to find out whether the Santa Cruz BULLIT (2025) is a genuine ultimate trail weapon or just another piece of marketing hype? In this video I pit the e-powered, MX-wheeled Bullit (170 mm travel, Bosch CX motor) against my muscle-driven Forbidden Druid V2—a 160/135 mm high-pivot 29er that couldn’t be more different on paper. I know that this is a crazy comparison, but the contrast of these two opened my eyes to what I think matters most when choosing a bike.... Spoiler: a couple of millimetres of length, stack and bottom-bracket height ended up changing everything I thought I knew about how a bike rides. I’ll break down how the Bullit’s geometry and extra 9 kg of e-MTB weight translate into real-world handling: slower turn-in, twitchy rear end and surprising pedal clearance. Then I’ll show where the Druid’s longer chainstays and lower centre of gravity still win on single-track—even with identical tyres. Expect honest trail footage, geo talk, and some very un-scientific impressions.
