Where Soul Hackers 2 Went Wrong
patreon: / bubbletea_ Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction 1:26 The Gameplay 15:59 The Story 22:55 The Characters 31:37 The Ending _________________________________________________________________________ Soul Hackers 2 is the sequel to SMT Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, which in itself was a successor to the original Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner. Quite a few people, including myself, enjoyed Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers. Soul Hackers 2 attempts to breathe new life into this long dormant sub-sect of Megami Tensei by implementing qualities of both Persona and other Megaten games. This can be seen as both Soul Hackers 2's greatest strength and weakness. SH2 is certainly a divisive game and has been since Atlus first revealed it. Some were open to seeing how Soul Hackers 2 would build off Soul Hackers 1 and how it would expand upon the Devil Summoner universe in general. Others felt this game too different of a beast and only taking on the title of Soul Hackers 2 by name only. Another selling point of this game is that it was announced to be multiplatform from the very beginning (Xbox One / Series S / Series X / Microsoft Store, Steam, PS4, and PS5). This game may have very well been an attempt to listen to fan feedback and apply it to a whole new project. On the other hand, Soul Hackers 2 may come off as a cheap tactic to win back older Shin Megami Tensei fans while also appealing to fans of Persona. Where did Soul Hackers 2 succeed?... And where did Soul Hackers 2 go wrong? #soulhackers #soulhackers2 #atlus #rpg #bubbletea #megamitensei #megaten #smt #shinmegamitensei
