Here, I will show you how to turn leftover rice into a famous Filipino steamed rice cake. Easy to make sugar rice cake topped with grated cheese. More: Filipino steamed rice cake, sugar rice cake, Filipino delicacy, leftover rice recipe, rice cake, puto recipe, steamed rice cake, vegan recipe, white sugar rice cake, leftover rice breakfast recipe, steamed puto recipe, puto white rice recipe, INGREDIENTS: 1 cup leftover rice 400 ml water 1/3 cup white sugar 1 cup rice flour 1/2 tbsp. instant yeast INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Combine leftover rice, water and sugar. Process/Blend until smooth. 2. Pour into a bowl then add flour. Combine well. 3. Add yeast, stir until completely dissolved. 4. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to ferment for 1 hour. 5. After 1 hour, stir to remove bubbles. 6. Pour in a prepared mold (8x1 inch. and 5x1 inch.) 7. Place in a pan with wire rack and boiling water. 8. Steam for 20 minutes (after 15 minutes open the pan and grate some cheese on top then cover and cook for another 5 minutes) 9.
