Restoring a Mysterious 107-Year-Old Battlefield Find

For more than 107 years, this mysterious object lay buried beneath a World War I battlefield. Covered in thick rust and dirt, it was almost impossible to recognize what it once was. In this restoration, I carefully remove over a century of corrosion, hoping to uncover the truth hidden beneath the rust. As the shape slowly emerges, the mystery is finally solved—it turns out to be a rare pair of Mosin–Nagant rifle wire cutters, a battlefield tool designed to help soldiers cut through barbed wire.
