Hanoi - 7 km of the Southern Axis Road Soon to Open | Southern Axis Road - Cienco 5 Connects the Capital with National Highway 1A and Cau Gie The 41.5 km long Southern Axis Road in Hanoi was started in 2008 with a budget of over 6,000 billion VND. After nearly 18 years, the road has only just completed land clearance. The road is 40 m wide and has 6 lanes. In 2018, in phase 1 of the project with a total investment of over 3,700 billion VND, the contractor built approximately 18 km from the former Ha Dong district to the end of the former Thanh Oai district. By early 2026, an additional 7 km out of the remaining 22 km in phase 2 is preparing to open to traffic. The new road section, primarily located in Phuong Duc commune, is currently over 90% complete. Upon completion, the road will connect to National Highway 1A, linking to Ring Road 4 and the center of Hanoi with southern communes and Ninh Binh province. Simultaneously, the road will contribute to socio-economic development, opening up opportunities for real estate and transportation in the area, and reducing congestion on existing national highways...
