What Do the Digits Mean in Numbers? Tens and Ones to 40

In this math lesson, students practice understanding place value by identifying the tens and ones in numbers up to 40. Using ten frames and expanded form, students determine how many tens and how many ones make a number, then use that information to identify the total value. Throughout the lesson, students build number sense by exploring what each digit represents in a two-digit number. This video is designed for Pre-K, kindergarten, and early elementary students who are developing place value and number sense skills. It can be used for guided math practice, review, small group instruction, or extra support with understanding tens and ones. Learn With Us (LWU) is part of AAA+ Virtual Learning, a structured online program for Pre-K through elementary students.
