Can YOU Read These Short I Words?

In this phonics lesson, students practice reading short i CVC words by blending sounds together to decode simple words such as pin, wig, hit, and fin. Students are encouraged to listen carefully to each sound, blend the sounds smoothly, and read the word before the matching picture appears on the screen. The lesson is scaffolded for young learners with guided blending support, repeated sound practice, and rhyming word patterns throughout the activity. This video is designed for Pre-K, kindergarten, and early elementary students who are learning how to blend sounds and read simple CVC words independently. It can be used for guided phonics practice, small group instruction, review, or extra reading support at home. Learn With Us (LWU) is part of AAA+ Virtual Learning, a structured online program for Pre-K through elementary students. Our lessons focus on building strong foundations in reading, phonics, writing, and math through clear, engaging instruction. We are now enrolling for our summer session, running June 1–26 and July 6–30. For questions or to learn more about our programs, please contact us at: [email protected]
