[Finally Caught It] SMRT ALS R151 Set 979/980 [Batch 2] From Clementi to Raffles Place MRT Station

Date Filmed: 14 July 2026 As There Is 99 [As Of 13 July 2026, 100] New R151 Trains In Passenger Service, The 106 R151 Trains Would Fully Be In Passenger Service By The End Of 2026. The First R151 Train Entered Service 3 Years Ago and Almost All The New Trains Were Near Completion Of Their Respectively Testing. The New Trains Were Being Replaced From Their Older Trains Or Stock. The R151 Trains Were One Of The Most Common Fleet In The Rolling Stock, Which Is Recorded As One Of The Largest MRT Number Of Train Fleet Model In Singapore. The Reason For LTA Wants To Scrap The C151, C651 and The C751B Trains Which Have Been Operating On The North South, East West & Changi Airport Branch Line For Years and Years Already. These Were The Only 3 Main Lines Being Used Out. Since On That Day 14 July 2026 When I Was Getting Myself Free At 5:15 PM Onwards, I Have Made One Quick Genius Idea That I Have Wanted To Take The Newest R151 Set Which Belongs To The Set Number 979/980. I Was Kind Of Finally Riding This Trainset After Waiting For Some Time Since I Know This Trainset Enter Service This Year, But Only Since 1 April 2026 During The April Fools Day Joke At That Time. At First, I Planned To Take The R151 Set 817/818 Since The 817/818 Set Has Finally Have Made The Debut Entered Service From 13 July 2026 But Sadly It Didn't Ran During Evening Peak Since I Knew The Train Run Number Was 940 In The Morning When I Read It On The SG Train Spotters Internet Link. I Always Wanted To Track Down It Because I Find This Helpful For Myself To Know If The Trains Would Perm Full Day Or Late Night Slot. When I Approached From The Bus Service 335 At The Chinese Garden MRT Station, I Walk Very Fast Because I Thought That The R151 Set 979/980 Was Arriving Nearby Because I Was Trying My Quick Best To Get To The MRT Platform As Soon As Possible But The Moment It Comes, It Was R151 Set 825/826 Which I Avoid Taking That Set Because I Wanted To See More Of The Sets Which I Haven't Rode Yet To Put It To My YouTube Channel To Get The Record. After The Front Train Which Was R151 Set 825/826 Which I Mentioned Earlier, The Next Train Was Approaching The Chinese Garden MRT Station Platform Towards The Pasir Ris Direction. Since At First I Saw It On The Whatsapp That The R151 Set 979/980 Was At The Central Business District Earlier But Idk If It Ends At Tuas Link Or Joo Koon, I Found Out I Got The Perfect Way To Find It Myself Without Asking My Friends To Find The Location Of The 979/980 Set. Due To The Peak Hour Period, The Train Runs Every 2 To 3 Minutes Instead Of The 5 Minutes Off-Peak Period Which Was Quite Great To Know That Because The Peak Hour Frequency Has Shorter Waiting That High Chance Could Get The Other R151 Sets If Possible and One Of Them Was Solved Because The Other 9XX Series I Recorded and Filmed Were Cleared Already. Now It Would Be Soon To Take The New 1XX Series Soon As The First 1XX Series Set Entered Service Since 3 June 2026 and There Is Only 151/152, 153/154 and 155/156 Being In Service On The 1XX Series. The Set 157/158 and 159/160 Are Going On Testing and Hope To See It Very Soon If Possible. As Peak Hour Is Crowded, The Best Thing For Myself Is That I Can Only Stand At The Driver Trailer Carriage On The Last Door Because It Is Suitable For Me and Not Much People Would Go To The Last Carriage and That Is Why There Is More Standing Space Being Seen On The Video Being Featured. I Ride To The CBD District Area To Enjoy The Train Ride Longer. The Train Ride Is Amazing As I Like The Strong Aircon, LED Lighting Are Very Bright, Working LCD DRMD Screens & CLD Display, Working Announcements, Clean Interior Of Train and Comfortable Seats [With Perch Ones] and Ride For This New CRRC Changchun Train.
