The Po with its 650 kilometers is the longest river in Italy: it crosses the Po valley and then flows into the Adriatic sea with a delta. The Delta area is one of the largest wetlands in Europe . Rosolina: Rosolina (Venetian: Roxołina) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of #Rovigo in the Italian region Veneto, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) south of #Venice and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) east of Rovigo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,303 and an area of 73.1 square kilometres Port Caleri : The botanical garden is located in the southernmost part of Rosolina Mare and covers an area of about 44 hectares. Here you can visit the parts of the coastal Botanical Garden thanks to three different paths: one3 short, which particularly interests the pine forest, an “in between” which includes all the various parts except the humid area of salt water and a longer one, which takes in also these humid zones. Delta del Po : The Reserve falls within the continental biogeographical zone and consists of a fluvial ensemble characterized by a stretch of river of significant size and flow, with a delta system, coastal dune systems, valley wetlands (very extensive and mainly brackish), sandy formations (scanni) and river islands with floodplains and oxbow lakes. The valley part is characterized by the presence of a complex system of reed beds, salt marshes, canals and marshes used mainly for fish farming. Ecosystems are conserved thanks to the characteristics of the environments and to regional and national laws which place the conservation of ecological integrity, natural systems and species in the first place. Human activities are present according to a decreasing intensity from upstream to downstream, so much so that upstream there is also a greater concentration of medium-small urban settlements, which become more rarefied towards the delta. Agriculture is the main activity, favored by the reclamation of the last century, but also the wetlands are still the object of human activities such as traditional fishing, shellfish farming practiced in the lagoons, extensive fish farming, which is an element of the local culture exploits the migration cycles of fish species between the sea and transitional waters. The Po Delta Reserve includes the UNESCO site "Ferrara, City of the Renaissance and its Po Delta" and three wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar Convention: the Gorino Valley and neighboring territories, the Bertuzzi Valley and mirrors of neighboring water and the residual valleys of the Comacchio area. Furthermore, in the territory there are numerous historical and cultural testimonies of considerable interest and some Venetian villas of the 17th century.
