Primitive Grandpa Catches Fish in Mountain Stream | Traditional Nepal Village Cooking & Dhido.

Beside a small village, there is a stream. On its bank lives an old grandfather, who spends his daily life fishing and hunting. In the eastern region of Nepal, there is a small village. A small stream flows along the edge of the village. On the bank of that stream, a strong and healthy old man has been living alone. Although he is advanced in age, he remains physically fit and energetic. The nearby stream is home to local fish species such as asala, frogs, crabs, and other aquatic creatures. Grandfather is highly skilled at catching them. He is also talented in traditional crafts, weaving items such as baskets, grain storage containers, and other products made from bamboo and cane. In addition, he raises domestic animals including goats, cows, and chickens. Today, Grandfather takes out the fish he had caught in his traditional fish trap from the stream and smokes them over a fire to make dried fish. Once the fish are properly dried, he cooks them over the wood-fired stove, preparing a delicious curry. He adds more firewood to the stove to ensure the curry cooks perfectly. While fishing, he also weaves a new traditional fish trap made from cane, crafted in an authentic traditional style. After finishing his work, Grandfather prepares kodo ko dhido (a traditional millet porridge). Once it is ready, he enjoys the delicious meal with the dried fish curry. In Nepal, kodo ko dhido and fish curry are among the most popular and beloved traditional dishes. Because Grandfather uses traditional and organic tools, materials, and food in his daily life, he remains remarkably strong, healthy, and energetic despite his old age.
