This village is located in the eastern part of Nepal. Even today, it offers an authentic rural experience with experienced villagers, a peaceful and clean environment, surrounded by hills and nearby forests. The forests are filled with the chirping sounds of birds, and the area still preserves traditional lifestyles and local foods. In this small village lives a small and happy family consisting of a son and his parents. Their daily routine is very enjoyable and heartwarming. However, today the son is staying away from home for his studies at a relative’s place, so we won’t get to see him. The parents, however, demonstrate traditional village activities that reflect their lifestyle. The father goes to a nearby stream to catch fish and brings back a local variety called Asala, which is considered very delicious in the mid-hilly region. He cleans the fish and cooks a tasty fish curry in a traditional wood-fired stove, along with Kodo ko Dhido (a millet-based dish) prepared in an organic way. Meanwhile, the mother spins sheep wool into thread using traditional methods, which looks very beautiful and fascinating. She also prepares a local organic juice made from grains. After everything is ready, the parents sit together and enjoy the local fish curry, millet dhido, and juice happily. The village lifestyle, traditional living practices, local foods, and clean air are believed to be very beneficial for health.
