Marsh walk & other little adventures | A magical gathering of crows | Cosy sewing | Gathering kindling | Drying orange slices | The little Christmas house | Spicy simmer pot The Old Shop, as it’s name suggests, was once the village store and here it still sits, its very flint and brick once part of this land. In this hidden corner of north-east Norfolk the days grow short but are jewel-like, especially when there’s a blue sky and watery sunshine flickering through the birches on the heath. Just as often, the day stays misty and grey, even drizzly, but that just gives a perfect reason to stay warm and make a few simple preparations for Yuletide which will soon be here. This time, there’s a glimpse of numerous little winter adventures as well as cosy kitchen moments. Oh and a walk in Acorn Wood to gather kindling sticks. It’s that time of year again.
