The Western world has lost its monopoly on power. Its model and vision of international relations are now being called into question. The countries of the Global South are observing with astonishment the war in Ukraine, which Maurice Gourdault-Montagne describes in his book as a "regional conflict between whites," and the position adopted by the countries of the Global South. The countries of the Global South have notably pointed out the selective indignation that Western countries can display towards certain conflicts, thus highlighting an inequality in the application of so-called "universal" values. Furthermore, the non-alignment with the sanctions imposed against Russia and the stated desire of certain countries of the Global South to de-dollarize economic trade confirm this trend of shifting towards a new international order. The West is therefore no longer in a position to impose its vision on the rest of the world... since others do not think like them.
