These operations are often perceived as forms of interference motivated more by strategic and national interests than by the defense of shared norms and values. All of these factors fuel the rejection of this model by many states and pave the way for the rise of new powers, particularly those of the so-called "Global South," thus redefining international balances and power dynamics. Can the West still claim to embody a universal and democratic model? How can we explain the growing rejection of Western values ​​in many parts of the world? Is the desire to impose these values ​​on other societies truly compatible with the democratic principles it upholds? What role do the so-called "Global South" countries play today in the reshaping of international power dynamics? To what extent is the Trump administration contributing to the decline of the very notion of "the West"?
