Vovô do Ilê – Ocupação Ilê Aiyê (2018)

Antônio Carlos dos Santos Vovô, also known as Vovô do Ilê, is the president and founder of Ilê Aiyê. Arany Santana and he talk about the origins of the group, which is intertwined with their own history. As a cry of resistance against the historical abuses that oppress the freedom and majesty that inhabits each person – in this case, black people –, the 42nd Ocupação pays homage to the trajectory of Ilê Aiyê.
