KOYANA DAM The Koyna Dam is a large hydroelectric dam in Maharashtra, India, completed in 1963. It is a crucial component of the Koyna Hydroelectric Project and is built on the Koyna River. The dam stands at an impressive height and creates the Shivaji Sagar Lake, serving as a reservoir. Apart from its primary function of electricity generation, the dam and its surroundings offer scenic views, attracting tourists.
