筥崎宮は、福岡県福岡市東区にある筑前国一宮。筥崎宮は筥崎八幡宮とも呼ばれ、宇佐、石清水両宮とともに日本三大八幡宮に数えられています。 御祭神は第十五代応神天皇を主祭神に、神功皇后、玉依姫命が祀られています。 社伝によれば、創建は延喜21年（921年）に建立されました。 醍醐天皇が神勅により「敵国降伏」の御宸筆を下賜し、この地に壮麗な社殿を建立、延長元年（923年）筑前大分宮（元宮）より遷座しました。 文永11年（1274年）蒙古襲来で焼失した社殿の再興にあたり亀山上皇が敵国降伏の扁額を奉納し、後世に、この地を治めた小早川隆景が楼門を造営した折に、亀山上皇の御宸筆を拡大したものが掲げられました。 この敵国降伏の御宸筆は本宮に伝存する第一の神宝であります。 後世には足利尊氏や豊臣秀吉など名だたる武将が参詣し、江戸時代には福岡藩初代藩主黒田長政、以降歴代藩主も崇敬してきました。 箱崎宮は元寇の勝利にあやかり、厄除・勝運の神として、また海上交通の神として信仰され続けています。 筑前国一宮／三大八幡宮／重要文化財／福岡県福岡市東区 ____________________________________________________ Hakozaki-gu Shrine is the first shrine in Chikuzen Province, located in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture Hakozaki Shrine, also known as Hakozaki Hachimangu Shrine, is counted as one of Japan's three major Hachimangu shrines along with Usa and Iwashimizu shrines. The main enshrined deity is the 15th Emperor Ojin, and the Empress Jingu and Tamayorihime no Mikoto are enshrined. Emperor Daigo bestowed a copy of `The surrender of the enemy country' by a divine decree, built a magnificent shrine on this site, and moved from Chikuzen Daibu shrine (Motomiya) in 923. Emperor Daigo gave the shrine an imperial edict to "surrender to the enemy" and built a magnificent shrine pavilion on this site. In 1274, when the shrine was rebuilt after being destroyed by fire during the Mongol invasion, Emperor Kameyama dedicated an inscription stating his surrender to the enemy. This imperial handwritten inscription of surrender to the enemy is the first sacred treasure in the shrine's collection. In later times, famous warlords such as Ashikaga Takauji and Toyotomi Hideyoshi paid homage to the shrine. In the Edo period, Nagamasa Kuroda, the first lord of the Fukuoka domain, and successive lords of the domain thereafter worshipped at the shrine. Hakozaki-gu Shrine has been worshiped as the god of warding off evil and victory, as well as the god of maritime transportation.
