(The Little Gem Farewell: Part 3 of 4) My Mini series, covering the demise of the once-loved Little Gem Buses. Originally operated under GM Buses from 1988 to 1996, The brand was fondly remembered by many Manclians of the era, And thus was well recognized across Greater Manchester - However, Equally well-respected operator Go Goodwins, revived the name as a parent company in 2021. Unfortunately, This wasn't to last, as on April 21st 2023, The operator ceased operations, Citing lack of help from TFGM to get funding to continue, And soaring overall costs. I was there on the last day, to film the operations before they went. This Amazing 2005 Dennis Dart SLF based East Lancs Spryte, Was the third thing I rode - And was by far, the highlight of my day on Little Gem. It's a former Isle Of Man motor, new as Bus Vannin 82, It was later imported back over to the UK by Go Goodwins, Who has had it since, and still does. Being new in June 2005, This is one of the, if not the oldest service vehicle operating in Greater Manchester, To the day of uploading this, having just turned 18 years old. this is the only vehicle I rode on this day that still remains in service with the main company, Having transferred to the new license for the kept 391 and 392 services. I was skeptical about this spryte, As I had heard that the regular driver of it was very much anti filmography and photography - However, it was the same driver as described, yet he was a lovely individual, Who absolutely floored it for me, So, if he sees this video, thank you for your kindness.
