I cross Manchester East to West on the Bee Network in a Train Challenge!

Can you travel across Greater Manchester using just ONE day ticket? And what is ACTUALLY happening with Andy Burnham’s "Bee Network Trains"? Join me on a rail journey as I test the limits of the Manchester AnyBus, Train, and Tram Day Travelcard! My mission is simple: travel from what I think is the furthest Eastern point of the valid rail network all the way to the furthest Western point, discussing some of the history and what is happening at the minute with rail in Greater Manchester. We kick things off at a grey and dull Manchester Piccadilly before catching a Class 323 over to Glossop in Derbyshire. Along the scenic route (including the stunning Dinting Viaduct), we break down the reality of Transport for Greater Manchester's (TfGM) ambitious Bee Network expansion. What is "Bee Network Trains" or "Bee Network Rail"? When is contactless tap-in, tap-out actually coming to Manchester's rail lines? Will TfGM actually own the tracks, or is it just a clever partnership? After Glossop, we head back through the notorious Castlefield corridor bottleneck via Manchester Oxford Road to board a Class 156 Super Sprinter. Our final stop? The unstaffed, peaceful station of Appley Bridge on the Lancashire border. Whether you're a rail enthusiast who loves the futuristic traction sounds of the Class 323 (despite the terrible underwater-sounding announcements!) or you're just curious about the future of Manchester public transport integration, this video has you covered. Did I get the furthest eastern and western stations right?
