KYRGYZSTAN - Roadtrip with rental car & tent - Ep. 1

During our travels to Kyrgyzstan we rented a Toyota 4runner with camping gear so we were free to roam and camp where we wanted. We started in the capital Bishkek where we did grocery shopping before we hit the road. In this first episode we take you on our drive from Bishkek to Jyrgalan. We make a stop at the Burana tower, and wild camp at Issyk-Kul Lake. We make a side trip to the scenic Grigorievka Gorge and the Semonovska Gorge. On these dirt roads with herds of horses and cattle, we had our first sense of the remoteness Kyrgyzstan has to offer. This is what we came for! In Karakol we left our rental car parked at our guesthouse and took the bus to Jyrgalan, the starting point of our 8 day hike.
